Niaz Muslim Library

The Niaz Muslim Library was inaugurated on Pakistan’s 77th Resolution Day by H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance.The Niaz Muslim Library is established in memory of late Niaz Muslim, a Down Syndrome child as part of the Year of Giving 2017 initiative.

Born on 13th November 1950 to Nazira and Abdul Sattar Muslim, Niaz was a special child with Down’s Syndrome and became the source of inspiration for establishment of pioneer institute in Pakistan called SCINOSA (Society for Children In Need of Special Attention) by his parents in 1960 at Karachi.

Today, SCINOSA caters to over 135 children who under special teachers and instructors are provided free vocational and other training with the aim of making them as self-reliant as possible.
Niaz Muslim passed away to his heavenly abode on 29th of April 2009 at Dubai leaving a big void in the Muslim family who have attributed this library and Symposia to his loving memory.
The library has 2,500 books on the history of the UAE, Pakistan and Islamic history. In addition to that, it has books related to English literature and also the largest collection of Urdu literature in the UAE. The library is open to all nationalities and has access and links to various libraries in the UAE and outside.
