Over 60,000 Join the Largest Pakistan Independence Day Celebrations: Jashn-e-Azaadi Pakistan
Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) and Emirates Loves Pakistan hosted Jashn-e-Azaadi Pakistan 2025 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, drawing an unprecedented crowd of more than 60,000 people for the UAE’s largest celebration of Pakistan Independence Day. The grand 12-hour cultural extravaganza took place from 11 am to 11 pm in South Halls 1–3, uniting the Pakistani community and friends of Pakistan under one roof.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence for the UAE; H.E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE; Mr Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai; Dubai Police officials, PAD President, Dr Faisel Ikram, amongst other senior dignitaries.
In a special address, H.E. Sheikh Nahyan, said, “As we celebrate Pakistan Independence Day, this is a celebration of strong national character, resilience, determination, achievement and hope for the future. And here in Dubai, this is also a celebration of the deep brotherhood and friendship between Pakistan and the UAE. The UAE is proud to stand with Pakistan as a friend, a partner and a brotherly nation. Your knowledge, optimism, goodwill and concern for each person in the community have benefitted our country and strengthened our society. May our friendship grow stronger and may your contribution continue to enrich lives in the UAE. Happy Independence Day!”
Meanwhile, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi remarked, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Government and people of the UAE – I have never seen a bigger celebration of Pakistan anywhere in the world. The UAE is in every sense, for many, a home away from home. As I cross the Gulf, my last thoughts will be of the warmth, friendship and acceptance we received from the leadership of this country and the Pakistani community. Pak-UAE friendship Zindabad!”
Following the distribution of Pakistan Awards recognising contributions of notable Pakistanis, audiences were captivated by power-packed performances from music maestro Sahir Ali Bagga, the soulful Natasha Baig, and the multi-talented Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, whose artistry set the tone for an evening of national celebration. The special evening was hosted by RJs Tayyab Arshmaan and Sophiya Anjam of Vibe FM 105.4. Adding star power to the celebration were special appearances by acclaimed actor Humayun Saeed and cricket icon Sana Mir, as well as popular TV duo Hira and Mani, who brought charm and energy to the stage. The celebration also showcased Pakistan’s cultural heritage through electrifying folk performances by renowned regional artists, as well as captivating cultural presentations by talented young performers.
Visitors enjoyed a massive Community Parade, and a lively bazaar of cultural stalls featuring exquisite Pakistani outfits, handmade accessories and artisanal products. A food court offered the irresistible tastes of home, from aromatic biryanis to freshly grilled kebabs, allowing guests to savour the flavours of Pakistan.
The festivities extended beyond the stage, with raffle draws and exciting prizes adding to the thrill of the day. A timeline wall traced Pakistan’s journey through history, while the JF-17 Thunder fighter jet simulator drew enthusiastic crowds eager for a unique experience. Families explored cultural activities, games, and entertainment zones, creating a true family carnival for overseas Pakistanis.
