Solidarity Celebrations

This November, we kick off our month-long solidarity celebrations ahead of UAE's 50th National Day! As one of the UAE’s oldest friends, the Pakistani community is eager to congratulate the country on its Year of the 50th and to also celebrate 50 years of Pak-UAE friendship. There have been many initiatives and milestones between our two nations that we will highlight throughout the month.

PAD Celebrates UAE Flag Day

Following the tradition every year, the executive board members and staff at Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) joined the people of the UAE in commemorating Flag Day on November 3rd which was marked by a flag-hoisting ceremony at the PAD premises at 11am. The day marks His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession as President of the UAE in 2004. First celebrated in 2013, the occasion is honoured every year as an expression of the solidarity and harmony of this wonderful nation that we call home.

On the occasion, PAD General Secretary, Mr Mushin Al Banna said, “We are incredibly proud to be living in a country like the UAE and consider it to be our second home. It has been such a pleasure to witness the UAE grow by leaps and bounds and we are thrilled to mark Flag Day as we do every year along with the Pakistani community.”
PAD Director of Culture, Mr Zahid Hassan also shared his thoughts, “Flag Day is a truly momentous occasion, giving us an opportunity to express our loyalty and appreciation for the UAE. It brings us great pride to raise the UAE flag at our premises every year as we come together to share our spirit of unity with the community.”

Pakistan Association Dubai is also proud to announce that with Flag Day, we kicked off our month-long solidarity celebrations in honour of the UAE’s 50th National Day. The goal will be to engage the Pakistani diaspora in celebrating UAE as our second home and 50 years of Pak-UAE friendship. Over 100 Bikers Converge For Unity Ride

Friday afternoon saw the buzz and thrill of a Unity Ride by the UAE Bikers Community, echoing with the revving of luxury motorcycle engines on the roads of Dubai. Over 100 male and female bikers from fifteen different biker groups made their way on extravagant Harleys, Choppers, Slingshots and more, from the Enoc Petrol Station in Ras Al Khor to Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) in Oud Metha. The motorcycle rally brought an exciting end to our month-long Solidarity Celebrations in honor of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee and fifty years of the historic bilateral ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
The Unity Ride, which stretched for 12 kilometers, kicked off at 4pm on Dec 24th while His Excellency Sheikh Saud Sheerani led the crowd of ethnically diverse bikers. Sheikh Saud Sheerani, who was pleased to be a part of the rally, is the president of the UAE Royal Riders. He said, “It is absolutely inspiring to see the hospitality here at PAD and we are honored to be here today. The place is buzzing with compassion and diversity, there is nothing like it. We are overjoyed to have participated in the Unity Ride for the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.”
The Consul General of Pakistan, His Excellency Hassan Afzaal and President PAD, Dr Faisel Ikram were among the host of individuals gathered to welcome the rally at PAD. Dr Faisel Ikram expressed his delight, on behalf of the community, upon welcoming the bikers community back to PAD after two years. He applauded their passion for community service and their consistent efforts to promote social cohesion. “When we had the bikers rally two years ago in support of our cause, Pakistan Medical Centre was still under construction. Now it is a great pleasure to have them witness our completed project this year in celebration of the UAE’s fifty glorious years and the historic Pak-UAE ties. It is also really heartening to see our bikers from so many different communities and nationalities coming together to mark the occasion,” said President PAD.
Over fifteen biker groups that joined the Unity Ride included the Royal Riders, Jumeira Bikers, Pakistan Riders Group, Singh Motorcycle Club UAE amongst many others from diverse backgrounds.
A tour of Pakistan Medical Centre was organized for the riders who got a firsthand view of the services and treatment being offered to patients of all nationalities at the clinic. They were thrilled to witness the state-of-the-art facility now fully operational, having visited during the construction phase of the medical center over two years ago.
Consul General, H.E. Hassan Afzaal lauded the UAE bikers community for their zeal and enthusiasm in marking the Golden Jubilee festivities during a post-rally ceremony at the Pakistan Auditorium. “Undoubtedly, the UAE-Pakistan ties are as old as the Emirates and the two countries share a rich historic relationship. It is indeed an incredible moment to have our bikers community turn up in huge numbers to join the celebrations,” he said. The Consul General also commended PAD for the tremendous work being done for society at large.
