Support education

With the recent shift in our lifestyle, some students have been facing challenges as their classes are now being conducted online. The PAD Welfare Committee has taken up an initiative to distribute spare laptops to students in need. No child’s education should be compromised, no matter what the circumstances.

We request you to please come forward. Your simple contribution could be a blessing for someone.

Social distancing

While we’re all social distancing and staying at home, here are some tips to keep you going:
Limit your exposure to the news and indulge in some screen-free activities like reading
Plan virtual lunches and catch up with friends/family
Try new coping techniques like meditation or yoga to calm your nerves
And remember, it’s OK to take a break.

Stay home

Having a home is a privilege many don’t have. How often are we grateful for it? Life has given us a chance to mend ourselves and look at the bigger picture. Take it hour by hour, day by day, night by night. Live in the moment. Spend time with your family. Nourish your mind and soul. Focus on your spiritual growth. In the midst of our fast-paced lives, we forgot to pause and breathe. So, breathe.

Grateful to our heroes moving

To all our healthcare workers and police forces leading the battle against COVID-19 right now – your services will never be forgotten. On behalf of our community, we thank you for working tirelessly day in and day out to keep us safe. You are the real heroes.

World health day

On World Health Day every year, we thank our healthcare workers for their services. Today, we honour them more than ever as they are at the forefront of our fight against COVID-19. Nurses and other healthcare workers are not only engaged in providing utmost care for patients but have also been engaging in research and educating the general public about this pandemic. For this and more, we thank you.

Things you can do at home

We’ve got a bunch of recommendations for things you can do at home. Remember, you don’t have to cram all of these in one day just to be productive. It’s simply not possible so set yourself some realistic goals and take it slow.

Not all heroes wear capes

Today’s children will learn about the heroes without capes. Sending our heartfelt gratitude to all of our healthcare professionals committed to saving lives right now.

PAD public service message

We are going to thrive. We will go to the beaches again and watch our favourite movies at the cinema again. We will hear the parks buzzing with laughter again. And then we’re going to cherish and celebrate every minute of it. This is a time to pause, reflect and gain some perspective. We will make it through this. But until then, stay indoors. You are not invincible, but you are wise.

A public service message by Pakistan Association Dubai.

Precautions

We will make it through it all only to come out stronger, provided that we follow these precautions as advised by the health authorities for our safety and well-being.

Thank you heroes

From the lands of the East to the lands of the West, from dusk to dawn, our unseen heroes in scrubs have been selflessly working to save lives and protect us all amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Words truly don’t suffice to express our gratitude to our healthcare heroes in the UAE and all around the world, but here is a token of appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics and first responders serving humanity against all odds. Our silver lining is that no matter what the circumstances and no matter where we are, we are going to get through this together. And together, we salute you. Your services will never be forgotten #ThankYouHeroes

Here’s a message of support from PAD President, Dr Faisel Ikram: We are here to serve you. Please do not panic, follow the instructions of the authorities, stay home, and we will overcome this pandemic soon, inshaAllah.
