PAD Celebrates Pakistan Republic Day with the message of Peace, Love and Tolerance

Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) celebrated the seventy-seventh Resolution Day of Pakistan on March 25, 2017 at Pakistan Auditorium, Dubai.

The celebrations included several elements to commemorate the day – one of the major ones being the Pakistan Movement Exhibition. This picturesque gallery of the northern areas of Pakistan – an undeniable, unmatched piece of heaven of earth – had over fifteen artboards captured by Aroosa Ally, providing a deep insight about the history and beauty of Pakistan along with depicting the struggle for independence.

Minister of State for Tolerance and Member of the Cabinet – Her Highness Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qassimi- inaugurated the exhibition. The Niaz Muslim Library -in the honor of the late Niaz Muslim – was also officially inaugurated by Her Highness.

This library – contributed for by the Muslim family during the time of constructing the Pakistan Auditorium – shelves over 2,500 books on the illustrious history of the UAE, the gripping history of Pakistan, and the inspiring Islamic history. In addition to that, it also holds books related to English literature, and also what is to be the largest collection of Urdu literature in the country. The library has an e-section with link to various libraries in and outside UAE. The library is open for all the communities and is part of the ‘Year of Giving’ initiative.

The Resolution Day was celebrated with the aim of uplifting the spirit of brotherhood and unity in our second homeland – United Arab Emirates.

During the ceremony, Dr Faisel Ikram also announced the initiatives undertaken by PAD for the Year of Giving 2017. These included The Read Wall, World Happiness Day, Ramadan Food Packages, Educate-A -Child Campaign, Youth Empowerment Initiatives, and volunteer programs among many other initiatives on the list. The hallmark of the initiatives is the Pakistan Medical Centre which is a non for profit medical facility , first of its kind in GCC by any community. It will include all specialties along with dental care, lab and radiology facilities, open to all nationalities.

The above initiatives are in line with the objectives of the “Year of Giving -2017” as announced by the UAE’s president, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and dedicated to the UAE’s martyrs in memory of their heroic deeds and in appreciation of their sacrifices.

The ceremony also included awards for the social workers – both UAE Nationals and Pakistanis – who helped uplift the positive image of Pakistan in the UAE.

Among these individuals were Dr. Omar Al Muthanna – CEO, Community Development Authority, H.E. Sheikha Azza bint Abdullah Al Nuaimi – Director General, Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Foundation, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Al Haj AlZarooni – Manager, Dubai Red Crescent, Dr. Yasser Al Nuaimi – Pro Vice Chancellor and Director Clinical Education, RAK Medical & Health Sciences University, Dr.Qaiser Anis – President, Pakistan Business and Professional Council Abu Dhabi, Mr. Irfan Mustafa – Managing Shareholder and Chairman, KFC Pakistan, and Strategic Advisor, NetSol Technologies, Mr. Ishaq Noor – Director, The Citizen Foundation, and Group Managing Director of Albatha Group, UAE.

All the individuals were honored by Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi – Minister of State for Tolerance, His Excellency Mr. Moazzam Ahmed – Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Dr Zia-ul-Hassan – Presient, Pakistan Association Dubai.

“Today’s celebration is an occasion of pride and solidarity, a time to share and appreciate history and patrimony, and mark allegiance and loyalty. On this important day, I would like to commend the fraternal relations between our two countries. The UAE and Pakistan have always enjoyed strong political, economic and social relations. Together, we hope to continue to take our strategic partnerships to the next level, by strengthening our ties and upholding to our core human values. In the Year of Giving, I would like to express my sincere appreciation and congratulations to the Pakistan Association in Dubai for the establishment of the Niaz Muslim Library which is opened to all community members from different nationalities, in order to share knowledge and promote the spirit of tolerance. Also I would like to commend onthe Pakistan Medical Centre, the first non­-profit project of its kind in the GCC initiated to cater to the needs of low-income people by offering top class health-care facilities, moved only by compassion, care and love, to achieve the common good of all without exception”, expressed Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi.

His Excellency Mr. Moazzam Ahmed – Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan – also shared a message with the community on this special occasion of Pakistan Day, saying “UAE has always been our second homeland. Land full of opportunities for millions of expatriates. We hope & wish to maintain a lifelong relation of continuous support & love with United Arab Emirates.

President PAD – Dr Zia-Ul-Hassan – closed the evening by congratulating and thanking the Community Development Authority and the entire PAD team on the success of the celebrations. “Thank you everyone for attending and being a part of the 77th Resolution Day ceremony. We hope that the community will extend continuous support for Pakistan Centre Initiative too,” added Dr Hassan.
