Sports Committee of Pakistan Association Dubai organized an appreciation award ceremony in honor of Raza Ali and Saad Amir, who represented Pakistan in 41st UAE Open Badminton Tournament-2018.
Raza Ali participated in U17 singles and finished the tournament as Runner-up. In final he lost to Shourya Joshi India’s U17 champion. Saad Amir participated in U17 & U15 singles and qualifies for the semi-final and lost in semi final.
Their Coach Mr. Amir spoke on the occasion and said this was the first international tournament of these young stars, qualifying for final in U17 and semi-final in U15 is big achievement and proud moment for me as Coach. He also told that we came here on self support; there was no support from Pakistan Badminton Federation.
Acting General Secretary of Pakistan Association Dubai, Mr. Sohail Ashraf congratulated Raza and Saad for their achievement and raising Pakistan flag among 22 countries. He also announced that PAD will use its contacts and try to arrange sponsorships for their future tours to Dubai.
Director Sports PAD, Mr. Zahid Hassan also spoke on the occasion and said that Sports Committee always support and appreciate the achievements of young athletes from Pakistan to promote the Sports culture within Pakistani Community in Dubai.
In the end Mr. Sohail Ashraf, Acting General Secretary PAD presented the shields and appreciation certificates to Raza Ali and Saad Amir.
