Description
"A painter at heart who graduated in Commerce but his experiment with canvas and colour as a student of Iqbal Mehdi and greatly influenced by Sadequain soon immersed him in the world of art.
Farrukh Shahab began as a portraitist, but his trips to Paris and London, visits to museums and meeting artists greatly influenced his work. Exhibitions in New Delhi gave him the opportunity to see some of the ancient treasures and his impressions were later expressed in an Abstract linear style with references to Cubism. Returning to Karachi, Shahab painted portraits, buildings and landscapes in the style of the Romantics. His work is featured in the World Bank Washington and Governor’s House Karachi
“Through my paintings I lay bare my soul, my being, my reason for living.”"
