Description
"Ali Abbas was introduced to the Karachi art scene by Alliance Francais in 2002 and has not looked back since. His works have been exhibited in the US, UAE, Turkey, Iran and Oman. He initially became renowned for his watercolor paintings but with time has earned immense
respect and recognition for his mixed media works and sculptures as well.
A vast majority of Abbas’ work vivaciously captures the life of Thar’s gypsies and the vastness of this mystical desert. His works bring forth an appreciation for simple things in life. His gypsies seem content and joyous with a few bare essentials in an unforgiving desert urging onlookers to reflect upon their own life of privilege and discontentment. Currently, Ali Abbas teaches at Mehran University, Jamshoro."
