Description
"Arif Khan is an established calligrapher, a widely respected art teacher and a known portrait painter. He was lucky to be groomed by the last generation of traditional calligrapher who used to work at the historic ‘ Baithak Katiban’ in the walled city of Lahore
Arif Khan’s calligraphies have a calm musical quality. He plays with one word which is in the centre and the around that word he creates a “tasbih” of Allah’s beautiful names or verse from the Holy Quran. The works rendered on textured surface through which the white paper reflects like streaks of sharp light. An Amalgamation of traditional and modern art, his letters and words are never distorted or ambiguous, showing his masterly command over his skill.
Arif Khan has received several awards at the both national and international level and his work is sought after by galleries and collectors all over the world."
