Festivity and Celebrations at Pakistan Association

Community Centre and ARY collaborate to create an ecstatic atmosphere of nationalism

On the eve of Pakistan Day celebrations, Pakistan Association Dubai joined hands with ARY attracting over 3000 community members.

Titled “Shukriya Pakistan” (Thank you Pakistan) the four day extravaganza festival kicked off on March 22nd attracting a large number of families across the UAE at the premises of PAD.

The event which was open to public was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Pakistan H.E. Moazzam Ahmad Khan and Syed Javed Hassan, Counsel General of Pakistan and Muhammed Iqbal, Chairman of ARY Group.

“It is extremely heartwarming to see the community enjoy and get together with their families. We have tried our best to give our fellow countrymen the ambience of Pakistan here” said Rizwan Fancy, Head of PR and Media Relations at PAD.

Multiple stage activities were curated for the young, old and children. Fancy added “The four day festival has seen large number of flocking which is a testimony as to how much our people miss the Pakistani atmosphere and are willing to grab every opportunity whenever provided”.

UAE’s community theatre group Goong performed their popular Urdu play Mian, Biwi aur Wagah for two days gathering huge accolades from the audience. Several stage activities also took place. Star comedian Rauf Lala and Mr Bean Pakistan stole the show with their amazing performances along with TV presenter Maya Ali.

Renowned singer Noman Ali Shah sang numerous national songs throughout the festival lifting up the spirits of every person who walked into the festival. The children thoroughly enjoyed humming along the tunes.

In addition, magic shows as well as other exciting gifts and prizes were distributed amongst the participants.
The extravaganza ended with the live streaming of Pakistan Super League Final which was arranged at the Pakistan Auditorium. Over 500 people witnessed history in making as Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United fought for the trophy in Karachi.

Mohammad Zaim, Head of Marketing at PAD said “Bringing the community together through sports is a healthy move and our partnership with ARY for the entire Pakistan Day event was very fruitful”.
He added that it was a beautiful moment while cricket was welcomed back home and we celebrated it here as well as part of our four day festival.
